People say "We have heard nothing like that since Mike Harding" and that's nice innit!?!

"... major strength is that Collins writes what he knows ... genuine poetry as the sight of the migrant geese evokes echoes for Collins of some of the last century’s defining moments ... just as sharp a social observer as any of his more literate, educated peers on the singer-songwriter stage" - City Life, Manchester

"Dominic, almost a 100 members at the Credit Union annual 'do' on Thursday night join with me in thanking you for the best set I've ever seen you do! They would have kept you on stage for another two hours if we had let them. We are certainly booking you next year. Your material and humour was exactly right for this community audience of all ages. There is a lot of nonsense written about folk music and about its purity. I believe what the material you are writing is the folk music of our time. It tells stories that listeners relate to and becomes memorable through the medium of humour. Clever, entertaining and deserves wider acclaim. Thanks." - Chris Smith, MoneySpinner Credit Union (South Tameside, Greater Manchester

"Jim Royle meets George Formby in Coronation Street. Dominic has the singalong factor, and dry Northern wit ... a man who combines a sharp wit with a charming live performance, bringing a sense of joy to many." - Amanda Lynne (Folk Music Agent)

"Thanks for a fantastic time last night. Everybody had a wonderful time and has been saying how much they enjoyed the gig. It was everything I was expecting and more and really made Liz's birthday party special." - Liz and Stu, Stalybridge

"A great big thank you for making us laugh so much, you were brilliant. We had a great day at the wedding it was fantastic and you put the icing on the cake for all of us." - Steph, Cheshire

"It was a pleasure to share a stage with you the other night, and a pleasure to hear your songs. So refreshing to hear some humour in the serious world of songwriting. Don't go changin" - Ray Heffernan

"Dominic Collins - another visitor to Club Acoustic meets recently and who writes and sings some very funny and witty material of his own. Dom sings funny songs delivering contemporary comedy firmly rooted in his native North West - carrying on a tradition in the region that goes back to the very famous material of Marriott Edgar. Dom goes down well wherever he goes and is surely destined for greater things. A night not to be missed !!" - Chris Rockliffe, Buxton Club Acoustic

"Dominic Collins-well what can i say eh?-a hard ******* act to follow. He was *******ELECTRIC last night and i can safely say that he wont be a ******* postman for long because he is definately going places, the way he writes i just think he is ******** awesome...he makes you laugh but he also creates pictures of places that we have all been and he does it with a smile. He is a ******** top bloke and deserves every bit of success that is coming his way" - Lee Griffiths gig review 17th July 2004

"I saw Dominic at the recent Blue Cat show and the best complment you can pay him is that he came on first and manged to stop 99% of the audience talking and actually listen to him, which with some of the rabble in there that night was no mean feat" - Punter at the Blue Cat Cafe

"There are great one-liners throughout but he also uses his persuasive humour to look a little deeper ... the images recreated with a touching attention to detail reminiscent of Billy Bragg" - Dan Ponter (GMWN 2004)

"Well we already know that the "E" in the middle of Dominic and Collins stands for 'EE he is good'. This debut CD by the lad from Ancoats is a belter.though it i primarily deals with things and people from the Ancoats area it will strike a cord with anyone brought up over the last 40 years in Manchester Salford or indeed in any other north west working class neighbourhood.

From the title track Canadian geese over Ancoat's Skies right through to his courageous (or foolhardy) answering of that most tricky question 'Does my arse look big in these'? this CD is without doubt to use a quaint local colloquialism "The Dogs do da's".

Dominic brings a welcome breath of fresh air to the local folk scene. His live act is a happy mixture of unassuming but extremely funny songs and a patter so comfortable you feel as if you have known him for years. As a first time effort this CD just like the lad himself is a sample of something that just gets better and better every time you hear it .if he is playing near you go and see him ,and but the CD - the Crusty cob needs the business.

Big Joe's comments:
"Baring infernal intervention, this lad is gonna be bloody big!! I mean he is going all the way"
