Tamside FM 87.7

Well Tameside has a short term license to broadcast FM radio and what a great job it has done, they have had the guts to put local talent live on air, not superstars but singer/songwriters who get out there most nights of the week for very little reward, Its such a pity that it wasn’t running a bit longer to get some more people on who matter in this area, But it looks like it was first come first serve, But I know that if this one proves to be a success then they may get another license later on in the year before they can apply for a 5 year license, Also a big mention to Darren and Steve the two lads who invited and hosted the show that put us live artists on, Well done lads you were brilliant and keep at it you will get snapped up Just get your demos off to every radio station that you can, Well done, and Thanks.

What The Postman saw part 1

Well I was in the chippy on Tib Street this morning
(Please Don’t tell the crusty cob), when I was met with Hey Postie
"I love your CD" it was a builder who lives on Tib Street
I said how did you hear it he said the girls in the chippy
lent it to me, I told him he has got it all wrong you are supposed to buy them, so he ordered one, then the girls said that they wanted 3 copies for customers and when I was delivering the mail to Blue Vinyl (This is a funky scratchy record shop)the owner ordered a copy because he had heard it while waiting for chips, He said it was for his dad,But I think his street cred was in danger, I was going to play The Blue Cat Café tonight but Steve O Donahue has e-mailed me to say there is a gig at The Navigation tomorrow night Tuesday 8th June, this is a venue that I have never played and I love nothing more than a new venue so with the Budweiser’s looking at me in the fridge saying "go on drink me " I can have a chill out night.

Please excuse my spelling.

One thing you must remember is that our school was known as the "Thick" school, it was for everyone who did not pass there 11 plus, The only thing I was taught for 5 years was football, So if you do spot the "odd" spelling mistake don’t blame me blame my teachers..

Canadian Geese over Ancoat's skies-Sales

Well as you all know I released my CD on the Diddydom label and sales Via gigs and word of mouth topped 100 sales a couple of months ago, and that was it for me I decided to stop counting, But then the CD boxes started to build up and that got me thinking Hmm 25 per box and another 3 boxes gone thats 175 gone.I got a bulk order for 6 today I will include these in my next CD up-date

D-Day---Thanks Dad

I know this blog is a light hearted look at life through my
Squinty eyes, But I could not let this day go by without saying
"Thanks Dad" and to everyone who took part in the D- day landings.
My dad spent the last few years of his life writing about his life in the Royal Marines, and how as a teenager he "Lied" about his age just to join up, Its about being a prisoner of war, and loosing so many good mates, and having lasting memories that would haunt and live with him for the rest of his days. My dad like lots of war veteran's is no longer with us, but it is because of brave people like him that we can go on the net,
Say what we like and do what we want.
Cheers Dad xxx

What the postman saw

This will be a regular feature, I will be posting (get it) any stories or incidence that may occur while I am on my post round, without breaking the official secrets act, I once asked my manager to explain the official secrets act, But he said he said that he could not tell me as it was a secret.

Great news about my live radio slot last week

The producer of Tameside FM has told me,
That I have a great face for the radio,

I am becoming a compulsive "Blogger"

I think I may have to go to The Priory and stand up and tell everyone in the circle that my name is Domblog and I am a compulsive blogger. I asked my wife last night if she wanted Blog on toast, she said no, she is watching B.B.C.blog and maybe later in the night I could nip out in my ford blog and get her two poppa logs with mango chutney. But I told her to blog off.
